JUNE 2005 - Prayer Letter
These first few months of my 2nd furlough have been filled with spending time
with family and friends. I am so happy to have the opportunity of renewing old
friendships and meeting many new wonderful people. Everyone has been so
welcoming and generous.
Within the past few months I have been blessed beyond measure as I have visited
with many of you. Time with my sister and her family in Leander, Texas was
precious as I was there during the birth of her 2nd child, Braden. Then I was
overwhelmed at the kindness of God's people at Mid Way in Raleigh, North
Carolina. My mother travelled with me to Big Sandy, TN where the people of
Beacon Baptist graciously welcomed us. Then we had a great time visiting with my
Aunt Nancy in Wisconsin. I had a heart opening experience as I spent several
days in Kyushu, Japan speaking at ladies meetings and working in children’s
ministry with BBFI missionaries Ken Board and Mike & Becky Winters. And I
thoroughly enjoyed myself at Vacation Bible Schools in Osborne, Kansas and
Leasburg, Missouri. Yet I must admit, nothing is better than being with my
family at my home church, Park Crest Baptist, in Springfield
1 am thankful to those of you who have already decided to help with the purchase
of a 4 wheel drive vehicle for ministry in Tanzania. Several children's groups
as well as others have taken this on as a special project. I am thankful for
your prayers as I look forward to the rest of the funds being provided.
May I also ask that you pray for our Tanzanian national leaders and churches? I
have received reports that they are struggling at this time and are in need of
encouragement.
I so appreciate your prayers love and friendship –Thank You so much for deciding
to make me a part of your missions team.
